Dr. Ruba Rizk is a Consultant in Adolescent Medicine and Paediatrics at Al Jalila Children's. She is American Board Certified in both General Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. As the only adolescent medicine trained healthcare provider in the UAE she has been an avid participant in resident education. At Al Jalila Children's, Dr. Ruba has been responsible for establishing the hospital's educational activities. She has also pioneered the inauguration of the Al Jalila Children's Paediatric Residency Programme, working closely with Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). Dr. Ruba has presented at numerous international and national conferences as an expert in her field.
Dr. Deena is a General Paediatrician at Al Jalila Children's. She is board certified by the American Board of Paediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Paediatrics. She received her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University, and completed her Paediatrics Residency at the University of South Alabama Children’s and Women's Hospital. Following residency training in USA, Dr. Deena returned home to Dubai and is committed to providing the highest quality of healthcare to the children of the United Arab Emirates. Her professional interests include medical education and research. Prior to joining Al Jalila Children's, she was a member of the paediatric residency selection committee at the University of South Alabama. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at multiple conferences.
I have a passion for education which led me into doing a ‘Diploma In Clinical Education’ with University College London. I take pride in my achievement as ‘Top teacher’ for medical undergraduates in UCL for two consecutive years while I was working in London. I obtained Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in UK in 2012. I have been an examiner for the Royal College of Paediatrics forMRCPCH and DCH examinations since 2009 in UK, Singapore and in UAE. While working in KK Hospital Singapore, I was a core faculty member for their ACGME accredited Paediatric Residency Programme.
Dr. Zeinab Alloub is a Consultant Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician at Al Jalila Children's.
Dr. Alloub has been involved in resident educationas core faculty in an ACGCME-Iaccredited medical training programme as the only neurodevelopment paediatrician within the government sector. She strives to ensure that residents and fellows train in educational environments that support patient safety, resident and fellow education, and physician well-being.Dr. Alloub completed QESP (Qualified Educational Supervisor Programme) under Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery in the UK.
Dr. Abdalla A Abdalla is a Child Neurologist at A Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital with over 17 years of child neurology experience under his cap. He is American Board Certified in Neurology with special competence in Child Neurology. He studied medicine at the University of Khartoum, Sudan, and did his general paediatric training in Ireland as well as at St. Louis Children's Hospital/ Washington University at St. Louis. He completed his child neurology fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Abdalla worked at Akron Children's Hospital as a child neurologist/associate clinical professor of paediatrics, Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). His scope of practice covers all acute and chronic conditions that affect the brain and the nervous system.
Research/ Medical Education:
1. Dr. Abdalla was the principal investigator representing Akron Children's Hospital at the International paediatric Stroke study group and participated as a principal investigator in several papers that came out of this group. He also has special interest in management of headaches in children.
2. While at Akron Children's, Dr. Abdalla was the Neurology Coordinator for the Paediatric Residency Programme for two years
3. Dr Abdalla also was the clinical coordinator for the medical students neurology rotation at NEOMED
4. He also served as the neurology rotation coordinator to the Akron Children's Psychiatry Fellowship Programme
5. At Letterkenny General Hospital, Ireland, He was the paediatric registrar in charge of the combined paediatric and medical education and monthly conference for 4 years
Dr. Tina is a Paediatric Hospitalist at Al-Jalila Children's. She is board certified by the American Board of Paediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Paediatrics. She has been practicing paediatric hospital medicine for 5 years. She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and completed her Paediatrics Residency at the University of Oklahoma. During her residency training, Dr. Tina discovered her passion for medical education and curriculum development. She received the annual Resident Teaching Award all 3 years of her residency and was ultimately awarded the Harris D. Riley, Junior Paediatric Society Award for outstanding contributions to the teaching and nurturing of fellow residents.
Dr. Tina went on to serve as the Chief Resident in Paediatrics, devoting her time to student and resident education and further strengthening the program’s curriculum structure. She remained on faculty at the University of Oklahoma Children’s Hospital for 2 additional years as an Assistant Professor of Paediatrics. During this time she served on the Paediatric Residency Clinical Competency Committee and assisted in the development of a global health curriculum pathway for residents.
Dr. Tina then moved to Duke University Hospital where she continued as an Assistant Professor of Paediatrics while practicing Paediatric Hospital Medicine and also obtained a Certificate in Inter-professional Education. She has mentored numerous students and residents along the way and given countless presentations, including co-leading a 4-day general paediatrics CME conference in Kazakhstan. She joined Al-Jalila Children’s with the goal of providing excellent medical care to the Children of the UAE and surrounding area while training students and residents with integrity and diligence. She is committed to training all levels of learners in the practice of excellent, evidence-based medicine while ensuring a healthy, supportive and safe learning environment.
