The paediatric residency-training programme consists of well-structured full time supervised 4 years training after completing medical school.

Rotations are based on a block system. Each block consists of 4 weeks. There are 13 blocks in an academic year. The training includes:

The Saudi Board Paediatric Curriculum has applied the CanMEDS Competency Framework as an innovative framework that describes the core knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of physicians. The curriculum is intended to provide a broad foundation for residents and faculty to focus on teaching and learning as well as clinical experience and professional development during the training Programme period.
